Single Phase Test Results

Calm versus Turbulent Air

The TDR probe records a mean frequency of 1422 Hz in calm air, and shows less than a 1 % deviation from that value when tested in turbulent air. Less variability was observed in the turbulent period.

Calm versus Turbulent Water

When placed in calm water, the probe records a mean frequency of 558 Hz. Although more variation was observed in the turbulent period, there was less than a 3 % deviation from the mean of the calm water period.

Calm versus Turbulent Water Single Phase Test

These results demonstrate that the probe is not detrimentally influenced by turbulence.
