2D Modeling Training

Week 3 Detailed Activities

In-Class Training continued

This week we will do the second half of the Tuflow training workflow together, so by the end you will have run a 10-m resolution 2D model of the VanillaC4 terrain at 100 m3/s flow. We'll get through the running of the model and basic look at model results. if time permits, we'll discuss the details of the remainder of tutorial 1 that you need to do on your own.

After class, work on your own to do the rest of Tutorial 1. Due next week at class.

Come to Class Having Read

  • Read section 14.2, 14.3, and 14.6 (13 pages but many have figures or blank areas) of the Tuflow 2018-03 software manual to gain an appreciation of steps to QA/QC a model after you run it.
  • Read Hardy et al. (1999) to learn about effects of mesh resolution.
